Oh without a doubt. I dont have a FB anymore but when I did, I couldn't keep up with all the stolen images I have seen. I have a twitter and I am always seeing stolen art on there too. I just politely message them and let them know who it belongs to, and then I message the artist and drop them the details. So many people refuse to use watermarks bc theyre so scared of compromising the integrity of the photo. I rather have it compromised then stolen. It's sad, but what can you do? I am lucky enough to have mine copyrighted, but most don't have that luxuary. However, if once you submit it to dA the submission is automatically copyrighted to your username, so thats one great asset! I never post any of my stuff outside of dA that way if its stolen, I know they only could take it from here under copyright!

Facebook claims the rights to all pictures posted on it. People should not be posting other people work there by allowing Facebook to claim rights to them. This is very unfair to the artist-photographer.

Is another one outright stealing and posting work, some of mine landed on this one.... Truth is doing reverse google searches it is amazing how many blogs and fb pages steal stuff, I have had businesses and churches rip off some of my work as well. It is abysmal and I see no good way to stop it, even low quality images are good enough for facebook so making our images small doesn't cut it.

Just Great.
It's ALWAYS something.
If it wasn't bad enough to have to worry about someone highjackin your work,
now even our responses aren't safe!!!
Looks like my browser problem is getting worse.
Now the BS is creating links in ANY text lines on any page.

I'm pretty sure he didn't do it on purpose,
but the word "credit" JamesHackland's response showed up on my machine as a lame "remove your credit card debt" link.

I'd be flattered BUT not all photographers give the right to share their work.

It's not a matter of flattery.. Yes it's nice that someone liked it.. But there are other things put in place, like the share button that makes it possible for people to show other they like something without ripping it off the original artist! There is no link back to any of the artists on this Facebook page.

Here is what you can do to have it reported and taken down.

Go to this link: [link]

It will help you understand how you can handle the situation.

There is a link that takes you to a form where you can send to the right department within Facebook, about copyright infringement and you can have it shutdown as long as you follow the instructions it intails to you.

Here is the direct link to the form: [link]

Good luck.

Well this is interesting......this person is giving credit to the photographer so really he isn't stealing the images and claiming them as his own. But he isn't linking to the photographer's page. I can't quite figure out why he would spend the time to do this.
