I like this one a lot. It really speaks to me. I like the composition , I love the clouds and that lightning bolt out there is just brilliant. The colors are beautiful , they remind me of paintings and that long exposure looks really good on the waves. I don't know your philosophy on post-processing , but if you're not against it , you should enhance that lightning bolt , to make it stand out more - I looked for some time at the picture before noticing it.
the bolt has been enhanced a little.. i tried doing it more but it looks too fake.... maybe one day when i have time.. ill spend more time and experiment.
subtle indeed this is lovely i like moody shots like this...but i do think it could benefit from a levels adjustment just to lighten it a bit....but none the less well done for the patience for 500 shots.... oh and theres a few specs of sensor dirt too...
lol.. thanx. i do see the sensor dust.. im gonna throw it back in photoshop and fix that.. i had some huge dusts spots i guess i missed the little ones.
this is actually looks a lot duller on DA than photoshop.. im going to try and fix it the way i wanted it to look. I like it kinda dark cuz if i lighten it up the lightning disappears.... im gonna fiddle around with it.. and load it back in.
i took the liberty of making a very simple levels adjustment, you can see the results here [link] if you open your original image go to 'image' then 'adjustments' then 'levels' you'll see what looks like a graph at either end and the middle of the base of the graph are sliders, go to the slider on the right (white one) and pull it in towards where the 'graph' bulges upwards you will see it takes the greyness out of the image, then move the middle slider, which basically makes it darker or lighter to your liking....
cool..... i actually think im gonna change it tho this.. [link] after reediting it and looking at the old one.. the old one seems to have a blanket over it.. its kinda flat..:S
