Ever so slightly the morning sunlight caresses the famous Castle Mountain. Thousands of feet below the Bow River rushes by. Along its shores the ice is growing after 2 days of snow and -26C tempertures.

Really wonderful shot, the lighting is lovely and the ice creeping through the rocks looks wonderful.

I think what I love about your photo the most, are the colors. They appeal to me with their browns, steel blues, and mists of gray/white. Then comes textures...rounded stone, smooth to wavey water, puffs of steam, pointy trees and fianlly the crags, and then the sky! Fantastic!

This is like another planet. It's so haunting and mysterious, and just looking at this picture brings my senses alive. I can feel the coldness and hear the silence as I gaze at it. It's absolutely magical.

I like this one more than the other from this spot, maybe cause of the clouds, ice, and fog, but the mountains do seem just a tad soft. It looks almost like you focused primarily on the foreground rocks. It could also be web compression.

they are less sharp yes.. but still sharp enough! full detail at 100% web compression is evil!! Thanx peter..:)

Wow, it's just on the other side of those big hills! Not far at all! And quite tropical when compared to the rest of the country, LOL! Though we did have snow this morning, it's pretty much all gone now - that is at just a few feet above sea level anyhow! :D
