Yesterday morning when I headed out to shoot sunrise, there was "floor to ceiling" thick fog. No mountains could be seen and I thought an actual sunrise was not going to happen. But these mountains oh gosh do they fool you. I rounded the corner on the highway just as I headed into Banff town limits and there I saw it, SKY!
I headed to my favourite spot in Banff, Vermilion Lakes. It is turning into an early spring here so sturdy ice is getting harder to find. After finding some ice, the sky exploded with colour! It has been a while since we have had such a colourful sunrise.

ITS SO PINK! This is usually the light I see after a clearing snow storm at sunrise. Soft pink then turns to orange and then it disappears. So dreamy.

Thats a beautiful image and I was wondering the same thing, whether you used any filters or post processing on the image.

Thank you. I use filters and it was minimally processed in LR.

Just assume I always used filters. I use them on almost every landscape images because I don't blend.
