I affectionately called this tree my savannah tree because it was by far the tallest tree in this one area and all the leaves were up to reminding me of the wildlife videos i watched as a kid with giraffes eating from similar trees.

This tree is located on Cameron Ranch which is a protected land under the Nature Conservatory of Canada. It has extensive areas of grassland and shrubland alvar.
This area is known as an IBA - (important bird area) and is part of the Carden Alvar Project. NCoC has been buying up land in this specific area to proctect endangered nesting Loggerhead Shrikes, and a great variety of uncommon breeding birds.

I can see why you have called it your savannah tree, it really reminds me of that type of tree too and the lighting and the way it makes the land red/orange really adds to the idea. Brilliant photo.
