Sunrise over the majestic Canadian falls yesterday morning.
I had been planning on going back to the falls for a sunrise, but the many times I have attempted before, it was always overcast when i got there. Niagara Falls, the actual falls have different weather than the rest of the city.
So I woke up at 5am, looked outside and i saw stars, so i was off and running. The falls are about 20 minutes from my house via highway. I had my fingers crossed then entire way there, got there at 6:06am. Had free parking as it was early morning.
I parked close to the new foot bridge to cross the road (such a good idea) .. walked through the closed but yet open Table Rock building. Then i went through the doors outside to the falls, and promptly fell on the ice. It was too early for it to be salted. I had my camera around my neck, my tripod in one hand and my hot French Vanilla cappuccino in my other hand. I scraped one knee but i didnt spill my cappuccino. After a bunch of cursing I managed to set myself up and take some shots while i waited for the sun to come up.
I now have a battle wound. Dani Vs Niagara Falls.. who do you think won?
ps. my time on my camera is wrong, this was taken at 7:22am.
To start, I love how this artist has captured the mist rising from the falls in a perfectly resplendent manner, and the gradiance looks amazing. I would also like to note how the sun's usually flooding light is tamed by the misty banner. The morning light makes this piece shine,as it reflects on just the top edge of the falls and makes the mist saturated with color. Had this been taken at any other time of day, it would be too bright, or the color would no longer be in the mist and it would look dull. Truly a resplendent piece. 5 stars.
