Fiery Dawn by Dani-Lefrancois Fiery Dawn by Dani-Lefrancois
Moraine Lake
Banff National Park

Spectacular display of light during this morning's sunrise at Moraine Lake. The open water that I used for reflections the previous night was refrozen with the subzero temps over night.

The entire morning was a flush of pinks. It was amazing!!

This looks beautiful with the red colour of the mountains in contrast with the cooler colours of the water.

did you use two image to combine the landscape and the sky together or got there using one exposure?

One image and the proper use of GND filters! I don't blend or combine images... I feel like I'm cheating if I even try it!

I don't combine images either as I hate to work with two separate ones. But I do play with exposures and just overlap the copies of the same image with higher exposure and lower. i feel that's not cheating... just getting the most out of it. Our eyes do not see the same way camera does...

Lovely composition, absolutely love it. The snow on the top of the peaks looks just a touch overexposed :)
